Our International committee have organised a meal with an international theme. Details to be confirmed.
Fun night tonight – we are holding a small games competition against our mother club, the Rotary Club of Rushden. By small games, we mean pub games such as skittles, pool, darts, etc. and there is bound to be plenty of friendly rivalry and sarcastic banter. Both clubs will be doing their best to outdo their opponents!!
Members of our Club Council will be holding their bi-monthly meeting.
Our Charter Night (or in other words, our birthday celebrations) will be held at the Masonic Hall in Rushden. There will be a 3-course meal as follows:
Homemade Soup of the Day (V)
Brixworth Pate & Onion Chutney
Fanned Duo of Melon with Parma Ham & Fresh Rocket
(all served with a fresh bread roll)
(All served with Seasonal Vegetables and Potatoes)
Summer Berry Cheesecake
Apple Pie with Creamy Custard
Fresh Fruit Salad & Cream
Coffee/Tea served with Mints
Entertainment will be provided prior to the meal, and again afterwards by The Welly-Ukes Show Band – a group of ukulele players performing an entertaining mix of music
Dress code will be Dinner Suits/Lounge Suits/Cocktail Dresses
The Higham Sparkle is an annual event with lots of stalls, fairground rides and food outlets, culminating in the switching on of the Christmas lights.
Our club will be having our usual stall selling mulled wine (always very popular), but we will also this year be selling soft toys and holding a bottle tombola.
Come and say hello!
We have recently supplied an ECG machine to the geriatric ward at Kettering General Hospital, which means that the machine is readily available for those patients needing it, as opposed to having to wait for a machine to become available from elsewhere in the hospital.
As a result of this, we have invited a speaker from Kettering General Hospital to come and talk to us about the work they do and the problems they face.
