CORONAVIRUS

Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus and all the restrictions being (sensibly) imposed, the Rotary Club of Rushden Chichele will not be meeting for the foreseeable future.  However, David Kendrick has set up a ZOOM site where we will all be able to meet remotely, which will be at 7.30 p.m. every Monday commencing on 23rd March.

This is quite amazing, considering the age profile of most of our members – we are all very quickly learning to be technology savvy!  It is also a really great way for us all to keep in touch and look after the well being of all our members, but also to be able to discuss ways to help the wider community in these very uncertain and trying times.  Look forward to seeing you on line…….

The 9th Funfest will take place next year on Sunday, 17th May at Rushden  Higham Rugby Club.  Entries are now being accepted for team participation, and also bookings for stallholders.  All information can be obtained from Rotarian Judy Webb at judy.rotary@yahoo.com, or telephone 07593 581127.

The 7th Higham Ferrers Chichele Classic Car Show will take place on Sunday, 2nd August at the Castle Fields, Kimbolton Road, Higham Ferrers.  Further details and pre-registration entry forms can be obtained by e-mailing highamclassic@btinternet.com or telephoning Rotarian Roy Murphy on 07831 898138.

Young Carers Book

It was with great pleasure that the last of the Young Carers Book written by Natasha Krywald of Ferrers School, were handed over to Ted Clewley of the Wolverhampton St. Georges Rotary Club.  We hope that these books, now spread far and wide, will give help and comfort for young people who are thrown into the task of caring for a parent or loved one.
