Our Speaker tonight is Dr. John Smith who was responsible for the formation of Cransley Hospice. He is also Patron of the Northamptonshire Motor Neurone Disease Association and Vice President of Parkinson’s UK in Kettering.
Dr Smith has had a varied career in medical care as a GP, Head of Palliative Care and now as a Trustee for Cransley Hospice. He is an Anglican priest. In 2004 he was diagnosed as suffering from Ischaemic optic neuritis which had begun to take away his sight but he has continued with his good work and writes a regular column in the Evening Telegraph.
The club extends a warm welcome to all who wish to join us to share an evening with Dr John. At a time when hospital and Hospice Care are under greater pressure than ever this will be a great opportunity to listen to and ask questions of a dedicated doctor with a wealth of personal, practical experience.
